Two 永利皇宫登录网址 students will commence ongoing casual positions at RAC Arena after completing internships at the venue as part of our Work Integrated 学习 Program.

劳拉·麦克莱恩, who is completing a double major in Journalism and Public Relations, and Bachelor of 业务 student 假虎刺属 Lewis, who is majoring in HR Management and Marketing, have been offered roles within their respective fields of study at RAC Arena (formerly known as 珀斯 Arena).

As part of her internship in Semester 1 of 2018, Laura worked with the communications team to coordinate and launch the RAC Arena’s Snapchat account ahead of the Harry Styles concert to engage with fans and patrons.

“I was so nervous when I first applied for an internship because I thought maybe I wasn’t ready to be involved in a workplace environment yet. 然而, when I first met with the team I was relieved to see how much support they were willing to give me.”

According to RAC Arena Marketing Executive Marika Bailey, Laura fit in seamlessly to the role. “During Laura’s time with the commercial department, 她是友好的, 对团队很有帮助, building a great rapport with everyone she worked with.

“因为她优秀的职业道德, 后来劳拉得到了一份带薪工作, assisting with the Arena’s after hours social customer care on an ad hoc basis. The role involves front line interaction with the Arena’s patrons, acting as the voice of the brand.”

假虎刺属, 默多克的另一个学生, spent her placement at RAC Arena analysing feedback from several concurrent Employee Engagement Surveys.

“While my Work Integrated 学习 position had a focus on human resources, I also had the chance to use some of my marketing statistics knowledge, 这是一种奖励. “My time there also had me shadowing the RAC Arena’s HR Coordinator Olivia Dixon in meetings, 面试, 和名单, 哪一次是令人惊奇的经历.”

奥利维亚说卡莉萨很详细, professional and producing work that far exceeded her expectations.

“假虎刺属 was a perfect match for the project as it required a fair amount of data analysis which allowed her to use both aspects of her degree (HR and Marketing) and could see the application of both disciplines into the workforce.”

Work Integrated 学习 setting Murdoch grads up for bright future

Work Integrated 学习 has been a growing focus of almost all undergraduate degrees offered at Murdoch. Through Work Integrated 学习 opportunities, students use real workplace experience to strengthen their studies with industry projects, 实习或模拟工作.

对于劳拉, the best part about Murdoch’s Work Integrated 学习 program was the opportunity to be engaged in a real work environment.

“You get the chance to complete real projects and help them be implemented, rather than simply submitting an assignment to your lecturer. 现在, once I graduate and begin searching for a job, I can relax knowing I know what to expect from a job in communications and I have the confidence in myself to achieve my goals.”

假虎刺属’s Work Integrated 学习 placement became one of her favourite university memories, giving her the confidence she needed to enter the workforce.

“The confidence I have gained from seeing myself actually applying theories to solve challenges in the workplace has really reinforced what I've learnt in the classroom.”

The confidence instilled in students during our Work Integrated 学习 Program is one of the reasons behind Murdoch’s number one ranking in the country for overall undergraduate employment after three years. 研究结果表明,96.7% of Murdoch undergraduates secured employment within three years of graduating.

作为RAC Arena的创始合伙人, Murdoch students can take advantage of a dedicated student intern program to learn hands-on skills, in addition to preferred applicant status for part-time and casual roles.
